Kelly Graham
Kelly is an apparently narcissistic, self-assured, freelance photographer who specialises in underwater assignments. He uses his sharp wit and foul mouth to hide his painful past. His constant disregard for his own safety often puts him, and the people he cares about, in danger.
K'inK'in, the Huahuqui, is a clone of an ancient creature found frozen in Siberia more than 60 years ago. The creature is neotenous and appears to have some telepathic ability, but is only a juvenile and scared. K'in is the object of many people's desire to facilitate their envisioned world domination.
James TremaineTremaine is Freya's stalwart partner. A hulking African-American soldier, Tremaine is formidable and intelligent. Protecting his partner is at the very top of his priority list.
General Benjamin Lloyd
General Lloyd heads the military operation that cloned the frozen animal corpse found in Siberia. Working with Professor Alexander, the General's conclusion of what must be done with the clone, now that they have it, impacts the entire globe.

Freya Nilsson
Freya is an officer in a secret military group formed to research and understand the Huahuqui. She enlists Kelly to help with a unique problem. A decision that has far greater consequences that she could possibly have imagined.
Chris D'Souza
Chris is Kelly's best friend and workmate. Despite being younger than Kelly, Chris often acts as the voice of reason. He follows Kelly around the world on their many adventures, but is unhappy when Kelly accepts a dangerous job from the US government.
Professor Alexander
Professor Alexander is the leading authority on the clone, V. His knowledge and understanding V's capabilities is the primary reason for General Lloyd's ultimate actions. Like many scientists, he only ever asks 'if it can be done' rather than 'should it be done.'
Victoria McKenzie
Victoria is a long-time rival of Kelly, but good natured and generally kind. Her gentle English reserve commands respect and attention. However, her delicate way and strong Christian belief mean that she is perhaps the most affected by the knowledge of the cloned animal and what it may represent.
